Wayne Rooney is set to launch his own football training app later this year, giving fans and aspiring footballers the chance to learn from the Manchester United striker himself.
The one on one training programme, put together in partnership with American sports brand fivestar training, will provide drills, tests and skills challenges - giving players the chance to directly compare their progress with Rooney.
Fivestar have worked with some of the biggest names in sport, helping to bring the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony through from world-class potential to world-class player.
And they've chosen Rooney, as one of the Premier League's best strikers, to be their leading global ambassador for football.
Straight after his memorable strike against Brazil at the world famous Maracana, Rooney headed back to England to film clips at Cheshire Football League club Ryland FC for the app.
Alongside sports choreographer and Rooney's co-host on Street Striker Andy Ansah, the England forward recreated some of his favourite training programmes.
The app then allows users to test themselves against Rooney, and even to challenge him one on one.
And the United star admitted his passion for the project stems from his experience growing up as a keen footballer in Liverpool.
Rooney said: "To be honest when I was young I would have loved something like this, I used to watch my heroes on the telly and have to try and remember what they did and go out and practice it.
"With the fivestar Rooney app you can take the film with you and play it over and over again until you get it right and when you do you can take me on in a one on one challenge and send me your film, now that's pretty good."
A combination of world-class training programmes and fun 'one v one' challenges, the app strikes a balance that makes it perfect for the budding professional and casual amateur alike.
Nick Blatchford, president of fivestar, said: "Football…is the most popular sport on the planet and at fivestar we want to give young boys and girls the ability to learn from one of the best in the world.
"We have, in conjunction with Wayne, devised a number of training drills, tests and 'one v one' challenges to improve all areas of their game…and even cooler their personal coach is none other than Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney."
The app will be available in August from the Apple store, and can be downloaded on iPhones and iPads.
And as the release date draws closer, keep an eye out for a special opportunity to win a personal training session with Rooney himself.
