Santi Cazorla: Arsenal can challenge for the title
Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla discusses his belief in Arsenal's squad
Arsenal closed out last season with a fantastic winning streak and now Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, is looking to strengthen his squad this summer.
If the north London side is able to get their hands on these players, the squad they build could very much contend for the league title. Or at least, Santi Cazorla seems to think so.
The Spanish midfielder made an impressive debut at Arsenal this past season, and he thinks the team is ready to continue their form from the end of last season when the next season begins against Aston Villa.
"Now we have put in a spectacular run-in and you can see the difference in mentality," Cazorla told Arsenal's official magazine.
"Next season we hope we can be a better team and win trophies and the supporters can enjoy it, that is what Arsenal really wants."
Many players are expected to be released by the club this summer which will dramatically reduce the wage bill at the Emirates.
Andrey Arshavin, Sebastian Squillaci and Denilson have all already been released. Many others, such as Nicklas Bendtner, Park Chu-Young and Maroaune Chamakh are also expected to leave.
Arsenal fans have been frustrated by a trophy drought at their beloved club for the past eight years.
Arsenal's large amount of spending money and the strong mentality of the team is encouraging for supporters.
Now that the club's stadium debt is mostly paid off, could this finally be the season Arsenal get their hands on silverware?
