Kaka could become the latest Real Madrid player to swap La Liga for the MLS, after visiting the stateside outfit Orlando City this week.
The former Brazil international "would play" for the Florida-based club once they secure promotion to the USA's top division, according to Orlando manager Adrian Heath, who met with the player during his trip to the franchise on Friday.
The Lions coach told WFTV 9: "If we reach the MLS by 2015, Kaka would play for us. Most likely.
"You do not have to be Einstein to know that his contract ends the same year that we intend to make the jump," he told local reporters.
Officials at the American club, which currently plays in the USL Pro developmental league, are hoping to secure a place in the MLS during its upcoming expansion - either by taking up a new position or by replacing one of the existing teams.
Kaka, who was left out of Luis Felipe Scolari's Selecao side for the ongoing Confederations Cup tournament, is thought to have been persuaded to move by his close friend Flavio Augusto da Silva, a major shareholder in Orlando City.
Whilst the renowned attacker has two years remaining on his contract with Real Madrid, he could be tempted to leave the Bernabeu sooner depending on who is appointed to succeed Jose Mourinho as manager of the Spanish giants - with Carlo Ancelotti hotly tipped to take the to the helm.
Kaka is the third most expensive signing in Real's history, behind Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo, although he was more expensive than David Beckham, who famously transferred to LA Galaxy from Madrid in 2007.
