Arsenal are ready to offer manager Arsene Wenger a new contract at the end of next season in order to keep him at the club for the future, according to the Mirror.
The board at the club are confident that Wenger is still the right man to take the club forward and in the direction they want to go, so they are fully confident in their decision to offer the Frenchman a new contract.
This news comes after a summer of doubt about Wenger's future, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all keeping eyes on the Frenchman's future.
This season has been one of the worst for Wenger as he took a lot of stick from a large proportion of Arsenal fans with a lot of them calling him to step down at the end of this season, but after guiding the team to another fourth place finished, the angry fans have quietened down a bit for now.
Wenger only has 15 months left on his current contract and would be out-of-contract next season, which is what PSG are hoping for as they look for a long-term manager to help them with their project of becoming one of the top clubs in world football.
The French champions are set to appoint Laurent Blanc as their new manager, but they have only offered him a one-year deal as they keep an eye on Wenger's future in England - and with this in doubt, the board at the Emirates Stadium want to offer the manager a new contract so that all doubts are erased.
Ivan Gazidis, who is the chief executive at the club, is hopeful that Wenger will stay with Arsenal for another three years - and he believes the new finances that are available for the manager to spend could persuade him to stay on at the Emirates Stadium.
