No bids for Arsenal target, says Swansea chairman

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has revealed that the club are yet to receive any enquiry's for their captain Ashley Williams. 

The centre-back, who captains the Welsh team, has been attracting attention from fellow Premier League clubs Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal following another successful season at the Liberty Stadium. 

Williams made 41 appearances this season, consistently performing well in Swansea's second season in the top-flight. 

Speculation had initially suggested that Arsenal is Williams' preferred destination but Swansea are yet to receive any enquiries for their captain. Swansea had expected to face a real fight to keep their prized centre-back, but the battle has been easier than expected. 

And Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed that the Welsh club are yet to receive any bids for Williams, who captained Swansea to the Capital One Cup victory over Bradford City this season, as they beat the Bantams 5-0 at Wembley.  

Speaking to the South Wales Evening, Jenkins said: "While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I have not had one call from anybody about him. There have been all sorts of stories in the press about what is happening with Ash but I have never heard anything from anyone."
