Cesc Fabregas guilty of horror miss
Confederations Cup: Cesc Fabregas misses golden opportunity in Spain's victory over Nigeria
Although Spain ran out comfortable 3-0 winners, against Confederations Cup opponents Nigeria, Cesc Fabregas had a moment to forget.
In the first half of the game, despite being 1-0 up, Spain were struggling against a powerful Nigeria side who could still mathematically qualify.
And in the 39th minute Fabregas had a serious clanger. The ball was driven into the box after a strong run down the right hand side by Valencia striker Robert Soldado but despite having enough time to pick his spot, Fabregas fumbled the ball off the inside of the right-hand-post, and it rebounded kindly to the feet of Vincent Enyeama.
Luckily for Fabregas, Spain went on to win the game and top their group.
Spain will now face Italy in the semi-finals of the competition on Thursday, as they attempt to add the Confederations Cup to their recent European Championships success.
Is this the worst miss of the competition? Perhaps even the worst miss of the season? Watch the video below & have your say in the comments box provided.
