Messi & Neymar: What to expect
Can Neymar & Messi lead Barcelona to future success or will their similar playing styles hinder the Catalans?
Barcelona have made a bold move with the signing of Brazilian star, Neymar. To the common eye this may, at first, look like a dream transfer.
Besides an undeniable quality uprise for the Catalans, an analysis must be made to comprehend a possible negative outcome from the move.
Could their be a clash of egos between the world's best player, Messi and one of the most upcoming stars in world football, Neymar?
Individually, the two are quite incredible, able to change a game with a moment of individual brilliance.
The two have been on the topnotch for some years now, sustaining Barcelona and Santos to ultimate success.
Since the Argentine star and the Brazilian youngster are used to being the main man, the player that their club relies on, it could prove a threat to Barcelona's aspirations.
This has happened in the past with Chilean favourite Alexis Sanchéz. Clearly Alexis wasn't able to cope with a higher level of football.
In addition to this, Sanchez struggled to fit into a team where he wasn't the main man. Sanchez was just another player, and Neymar may head down the same path as the Chilean.
However, Neymar and Sanchez are different players. Neymar is Brazil's football personification.
The heat, the dance moves and the exuberance bear great resemblance to some of the most remembered among the Canarinha, namely right-winger Garrincha.
The same can be applied to Messi.
Resilient, frantic and decisive, a true Argentinian footballer, possible parallel of Diego Armando Maradona and Pablo César Aimar, in height, skill and vision.
These are two of the greatest the sport has to offer today.
How they relate to each other's personas will prove to be critical in building one of the greatest symbiotic corporations ever seen in the game.
We just have to wait and hope for the best.
