Bradford Bulls have completed the signing of Garreth Carvell from Warrington for the 2014 season.

The 32-year-old prop has signed a two-year contract with the Bulls after completing his transfer today.

It is hoped that Carvell will add experience to a young Bulls side as they look to improve on the mid-table position that the club currently occupies.

Bulls coach Francis Cummins told the club website: “In general we’ve got a young squad and most of it is about providing belief.

“We just need to take the next step and the experience that Garreth brings will be invaluable in this area.

“I have spoken to him about what we need and he’s delighted to be coming on board.”

It is the first signing that the Bulls have announced as they already look to prepare for the 2014 season and chairman Omar Khan said he was ‘delighted’ to have got Carvell on board.

He said: “He will be a big addition to our pack and will be a big player for us.

“Francis has outlined the club’s philosophy to him and what our culture is and he has bought into that.

“I am sure he will be a big success at the Bulls.”

Carvell has formerly represented Leeds, Gateshead and Hull and has earned three Welsh caps in a career spanning for 16 years.

This season Carvell has made 16 appearances for his current club, Warrington, in the Super League and scored three tries.
