Everton boss Roberto Martinez is targeting three signings and is set to make an ambitious move for Japanese international Keisuke Honda, according to reports.
With Marouane Fellaini a transfer target for both Arsenal and Manchester United, Martinez is keen to ensure that the Goodison Park club will not be left short handed - should the Belgian choose to leave.
Playmaker Honda, 27, has been a target for a number of Premier League clubs in recent seasons, including Everton's cross-town rivals Liverpool.
But after seeing out his contract with the Russian champions, Honda is now keen on a move to the Premier League, where his friend and international teammate Shinji Kagawa has already been plying his trade for 12 months.
Martinez is also keeping tabs on Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady.
The 27-year-old Republic of Ireland player, who was the most expensive export of the Scottish Premier League when he moved to the Russian capital from Celtic for £9.5 million in 2010, is a long term target of the Spaniard, who tried to sign him for Wigan in January.
Everton also remain interested in Latics striker Arouna Kone, but face competition from Norwich for the Ivorians signature.
However Kone, who scored 11 league goals for Wigan last season, could be tempted by a potential reunion with his former manager.
