New Chelsea signing Andre Schurrle hopes to win an array of silverware at Stamford Bridge, following the confirmation of his £18m move from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Germany international's transfer was finally confirmed this week, and he becomes Jose Mourinho's first signing since his return to Stamford Bridge for his second spell in charge at the club.

Schurrle finalised a five-year deal that will see him stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2017/18 season.

And following the move, Schurrle is confident that he can win more silverware at Chelsea because of the strong squad that is currently at the club.

"Hopefully I can win a lot of titles in the next five years," Schurrle told Chelsea's official website. "We have a great team with some very talented young players. We can all improve ourselves, and under Jose Mourinho I'm confident we can have a really great season.

"For this club, winning titles is always the main objective. We have a great young team with so much quality."

And Schurrle is confident that, under the guidance of Mourinho, the club can perform successfully in all competitions next season - not only the Premier League.

"We are capable of doing well in the Premier League, Champions League and the cup competitions as well, and I hope to play a big part," Schurrle added. "I'm really looking forward to working with Mourinho. I got to know him at Michael Ballack's testimonial a few weeks ago where we talked a little bit.

"He gave me advice on where to live and also explained what he expect from me."
