With the 2013 MotoGP season passing it's one-third mark at the Catalan Grand Prix, the Ducati Team now set their sights on the Netherlands' legendary TT Circuit Assen.

As the championship's longest-standing round and the only race that is held on a Saturday, Assen is unique and rich in history.

Ducati Team's Nicky Hayden secured a win at Assen in his championship-winning season of 2006 and says it is a race he really enjoys.

He told roadracingworld.com: "The next three rounds are all at tracks that I like a lot, and Assen in particular is a great circuit with a great history. I really enjoy it, and I feel focused and ready."

“It was nice to be home for a weekend for the first time in quite a while, but I certainly feel fresh and ready to come back strong and finish out this next little stretch of races before the summer break." He added.

Hopefully we can use the information from the test in Barcelona to have a good race.”"

Hayden's Ducati team-mate Andrea Dovizioso is not so fond of the circuit, admitting he hasn't had the best of luck.

He told reporters: "I must admit that I haven’t had much luck at Assen, I’ve only had a pair of third-place finishes in the last two years, so we hope to go better this time.”

Ducati will be using the same bike they used in Barcelona, without the updated frame, and will hope that the cool weather in Holland benefits them during the race.

The Assen circuit has undergone many changes over the years, but one thing that is always guaranteed is the huge crowd of spectators that the event inevitably draws.
