Spurs have had another somewhat tough season as they again just missed out on the Champions League, but how did their season really go?

Here is a list of what I think were Spurs' key and pivotal fixtures last season along with my rating out of 10.

Newcastle United 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

First game of the season is always a pivotal one, and Tottenham lost when they really should have won. Rating: 3/10

Manchester United 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

This was a fantastic win for Tottenham and a big confidence booster. A good game to show what Spurs can really do at their best! Rating: 9/10

Tottenham Hotspur 2-4 Chelsea

A win against Chelsea is hard to get, but here Spurs were expected to do better than a two-goal loss after their good run. Rating: 5/10

Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Wigan Athletic & Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Fulham

Both these games were very disappointing for Tottenham and in my opinion cost them a position in the Champions League. Rating: 1/10

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Arsenal

This superb win for Spurs meant that they went five points above rivals Arsenal and - at the time - looked like the favourites to seal a Champions League spot out of the two north London sides. Rating: 8/10

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Manchester City

A great comeback against a top class team gave Tottenham a big confidence boost and a good chance of getting a top-four spot. Rating: 8/10

Wigan Athletic 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur & Chelsea 2-2 Tottenham Hostpur

These two draws were disappointing for Spurs as it gave them a smaller chance of getting into the Champions League. Rating: 5/10

Overall, Tottenham had a strange season of beating some top clubs and losing to some easier clubs, but overall put on a good performance.

Then I am left with the question of, what were the silly losses and draws all down to?

I would say as a whole it was due to the lack of striker quality, and that is why I believe Spurs will bring in rumoured transfer targets Paulinho and Christian Benteke.

Overall Season Rating: 6/10
