Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has stated that Malaga playmaker Isco, who is wanted by Manchester City, will sign for the Spanish giants next week.
Isco dismissed all transfer rumours following the 4-2 victory over Italy in the European U21 Championship last week, where he featured prominently in Spain's success, as they became the World Cup holders, plus the senior and U21 European Championship holders all at the same time.
But following his return from Israel this week, Isco admitted that a move to Real Madrid would be an "exciting option", suggesting that a transfer to the Bernabeu would be his preference.
Isco jetted of on holiday this week, so we may have to wait until next Wednesday to find the transfer confirmed, despite Perez's claims that they have a deal in place.
But Perez was adamant that Madrid have agreed a deal with Malaga and Isco, which will see the 21-year-old move to the Bernabeu next season.
"There is an agreement with the club (Malaga) and the player," Perez told Spanish radio station RNE. "Isco will be presented next week, all he needs is to overcome the medical examination."
Should Isco sign for Real next week, he will become their third signing of the summer after Dani Carvajal made the move from Bayer Leverkusen and a permanent deal was concluded for Sao Paulo midfielder Casemiro.
