New PSG manager Laurent Blanc has spoken for the first time since being appointed as the new boss on Tuesday.
The former Manchester United defender spoke in his first press conference today and revealed his excitement for the challenge ahead.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "I am very happy to be here and proud to lead Paris Saint-Germain. It’s a very exciting challenge. We are putting competent staff in place with people who have the same desire [as me].
"The goals are very high, so I expect exemplary behaviour from all players."
Blanc replaces Carlo Ancelotti who was appointed as Real Madrid manager at the same time as Blanc was revealed as PSG boss on Tuesday.
The Italian guided the French club to league success last season as well as taking them to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
But despite his predecessors success, Blanc has no problem with the expectations placed upon him.
He added: "It is normal that the leaders are demanding of the coach and his staff. I want to unite everyone around the project of Paris Saint-Germain. I think and hope that the team will be even better.
"When a club was champion and in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the goal is to do even better," he added.
Blanc has signed a one-year deal with the club and has the option to extend this depending on results next season.
The former French international has already managed in Ligue 1 having spent three seasons at Bordeaux.
