Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani dos Santos looks set to make the move to newly promoted Villarreal.
Dos Santos is wanted by the newly promoted side after a successful season playing for Mallorca, who were relegated from La Liga last season.
He made 29 appearances for the Spanish side, scoring six goals in the process.
And it is this form that has attracted the likes of Villarreal, who are looking for experienced, quality players who can keep them in La Liga next season.
But despite their interest in the player, Villarreal president Fernando Roig has admitted that Dos Santos isn't their only option. The Mexican international is expected to be the subject of an intense bidding war, and this will only have intensified after some good performances for Mexico at the Confederation Cup in the past two weeks.
Dos Santos is also said to have spoken to Valencia, whilst he has also been linked with a move to Sevilla and Malaga.
Malaga are looking for a replacement for Spanish prodigy Isco, who departed for Real Madrid this week. And they see Dos Santos as the perfect replacement for the star.
But Roig was adamant that Dos Santos is an appealing option for his Villarreal side. Speaking to EFE, he said: "Giovani is a player that we like and who we value as a good option. We have a long list of options and we cannot deny that Giovani is one of them, but he is one among many others."
