Djibril Cisse is to leave QPR this summer after he had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.

The French striker, who joined QPR from Lazio, will become a free agent on July 1.

Cisse, who spent the second half of last season on loan to Qatari club Al-Gharafa, scored 10 goals in 29 appearances.

The 31-year-old wants to return to France and has been linked with a move to Montpellier.

Reports had suggested personal terms had been agreed but Montpellier president Louis Nicollin denied those claims.

QPR, who were relegated last season, are looking to get their top earners out of Loftus Road ahead of the new season at the same time as making new signings.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp has made it clear he will remain in charge of the club as he looks to take the west London side back up to the Premier League at he first time of asking.
