Oscar Cardozo is reportedly set for a move to the Premier League this summer.
The Benfica striker’s agent, Pedro Aldave, has come out today to confirm that there has been interest in his client from English clubs.
Aldave, speaking to Sky Sports, said: "Benfica knows the situation and now the subject is in their hands.
"There has always been interest from Premier League but now this is real interest."
Cardozo has been touted as a potential replacement for Carlos Tevez, as Manchester City seek to add a striker to their squad after the departure of the Argentina international to Juventus earlier this week.
But a fee of around £17m may be required to bring the striker to the Etihad Stadium.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with making a move for the 30-year-old Paraguayan, but it remains to be seen whether they will follow up their interest by making an offer.
Cardozo is seen as the complete centre-forward, possessing great ability with the ball at his feet as well as being powerful in the air. He has scored an impressive 106 goals in 160 appearances for Benfica since joining the club in 2007.
