Arsenal lead a host of English clubs in the race to sign Gerard Deulofeu, according to reports.
El Mundo Deportivo claims the Gunners have an advantage over the rest of their transfer rivals, and claim that the club have already registered an interest.
However, Arsene Wenger isn’t alone in his interest, with both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur already signalling their intent to try and land the player. The trio have all forwarded proposals to Deulofeu’s agent, Gines Carvajal, according to the report.
Chelsea, West Ham United, Swansea City and Everton also want to bring the 19-year-old to the Premier League, whilst new Brighton & Hove Albion boss Oscar Garcia is hoping to secure a major Championship transfer coup.
Deulofeu is seen as one of the rising stars at Barcelona, but is on the fringes of the first team with just two La Liga appearances to his name to-date.
Arsenal will hope senior football could be a luring factor for the Spanish U20 international, although the winger’s contract at the Nou Camp runs until 2017, and a loan move to the Emirates Stadium has been mooted elsewhere in the press.
