It's well known fact that Arsenal are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer after Arsene Wenger seems to have lost patience with Wojciech Szczesny.
The Pole, while performing well at times has become complacent, leading to costly errors.
Wenger hopes the arrival of an experienced keeper will put pressure on Szczesny and provide much-needed competition for the number one shirt.
Among the list of targets is QPR's Brazilian shot stopper Julio Cesar who's currently away with Brazil playing in the Confederations Cup.
The former Inter Milan has enjoyed huge success in Italy, with a Champions League medal just one of many medals in his collection.
The experienced goalkeeper was arguably QPR's only consistently solid performer,in a disappointing season for the club, ending in relegation.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal will bid £1.5million for the player once he has returned back to London from the Confederations Cup. While £1.5million may not be enough to secure the player it won't be far from the eventual fee.
Asmir Begovic and Pepe Reina have been looked at as potential options, but their much larger fees make Cesar the preferred option.
If the Gunners were to sign Cesar he could bring much-needed experience and consistency, something they have been missing for far too long.
His small fee would also allow the majority of their warchest to be used to bring in marquee signings such as Gonzalo Higuain and Marouane Fellaini.
