Manchester United defender Patrice Evra is apparently furious at new manager David Moyes for making a £12million bid for Everton left-back Leighton Baines, according to the Sun.
Moyes is keen on bringing Baines with him from Goodison Park to Old Trafford, but his decision hasn't impressed current left-back and occasional captain Evra.
The 32-year-old Frenchman is not keen on playing second fiddle to Baines and would seek a move away from United if they were to complete the signing of the Englishman with former club AS Monaco interested in re-signing him for an estimated fee of £6million.
Moyes made the £12million bid for Baines on Thursday evening but his offer was rejected immediately by the Merseyside club as they want at least £16million for their star asset.
Baines has been sensational for Everton over the last few seasons and now that Moyes has left the club for Manchester United, there are fears within the club that the defender may make the same move in order to compete at the top of world football.
Evra has been United's first choice left-back for seven years now and the idea of being the second-choice left-back is something that doesn't appeal to Evra and he would push for a move away from Old Trafford if that was the case.
The Frenchman is seen as a massive character in the United dressing room so his departure would not be welcomed by his team-mates, but mega-rich Monaco are prepared to bid for the defender if they do eventually sign Baines.
