Tottenham are poised to beat Liverpool to the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Daily Mail.
The Armenia international has attracted the interest of many top clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Manchester City as well as Liverpool, who at one point looked set to sign Mkhitaryan.
However, Tottenham could now snap up the highly-rated midfielder, along with Brazil international Pauliniho and Barcelona star David Villa.
Various offers have been made for the Armenian but Shakhtar are holding out for their £25m valuation. With different offers on the table then, the choice may come down to where Mkhitaryan wants to move.
The 24-year old scored 26 goals in 29 games for Donetsk and his fine form for his club and country has attracted all kinds of interest.
He is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after transfer targets in the world and, therefore, Liverpool or Tottenham will have to act fast to sign him.
