PSV Eindhoven have reached an agreement with fellow Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar for their inventive playmaker Adam Maher, who will sign for the club after completing a routine medical.
The transfer fee is widely believed to be in the region of seven or eight million euros.
The highly-rated prospect, who is expected to sign a five-year deal, will become Philip Cocu's third signing of the summer after already completing deals for Jeffrey Bruma and Florian Jozefzoon.
"We have been looking at signing him for a long time," PSV's technical director Marcel Brands told the official club website. "With him we have a very talented Dutch player who fits the philosophy of PSV."
This move comes in light of Ajax director of football Marc Overmars interview with Dutch paper De Telegraaf in which he said: "I have called Adam and his agent Sigi Lens to tell them we will make other choices.
"I have also informed AZ that we are no longer interested."
Despite being only 19-years-old, Maher made 94 appearances for AZ Alkmaar, making his debut in 2010 before scoring 22 goals and recording 17 assists during his time spent at the club.
This impressive form has seen him earn four caps for the Netherlands national team, and he was an integral part of the Holland U21 side that made it to the semi-finals in this summer's European U21 Championships.
The teenager had attracted interested from English clubs Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham in recent times but he stated him intention to further develop his game in the Netherlands.
