Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is not going anywhere and reports of him joining AC Milan are “pub talk”, according to his agent.
The Express are running with quotes from Silvano Martina denying there had been talks between Vidic and any other club, while reaffirming his commitment to the Old Trafford club.
“We are talking with no-one. This is all pub talk,” he is quoted as telling Fantagazzetta.
"This is the first time I heard that news and I don't know where it came from. We're talking about the captain of Manchester United here, not just any player. Vidic has no problems with United - all the talk is hot air."
Reports over the weekend had suggested Manchester United’s possible signing of Benfica centre-back Ezequiel Garay would have serious consequences for Vidic.
New Old Trafford manager David Moyes will reportedly start phasing out the Serbian from first team action with the arrival of Garay.
Vidic has been one of the Red Devils’ best performers over the years, but he has missed large chunks of the past two seasons because of serious injury, which could be a possible motive behind moving him on.
AC Milan are reportedly keen on signing Vidic but it appears as though they will have to look elsewhere to reinforce their back line.
