Chelsea & Arsenal get more competition for Spain starlet

Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all been credited with an interest in Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu, but it now appears they will have to fight off interest from other La Liga side.

According to talkSPORT, Valencia have now taken up an interest in rivalling the Premier League suitors after giving up on signing Spurs’ winger Giovani dos Santos.

Liverpool and Tottenham have been mentioned as possible destinations for Deulofeu to spend a season on loan, but last week Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had reportedly stolen a march on the others.

Further developments were reported at the weekend that Chelsea had entered the fray and it was set to be something of a scramble for the Camp Nou starlet.

Deulofeu is one of the most highly rated players to have come from the famed La Masia academy in recent years, but he has seen his opportunities for first team action recede this summer.

Barcelona’s £50million signing of Neymar means there will be even more competition for places in the Camp Nout starting XI.

The report claims Barcelona are ready to allow the 19-year-old to go out on loan for a season in order to get some first team experience.
