Wigan striker Mauro Boselli is closing in on a move to Mexican first division side Club Leon.
The Argentinian striker has failed to make an impression at the DW Stadium, spending a lot of his time there on-loan at European clubs.
He made the move to the Latics in the summer of 2010 from Argentinean club Estudiantes for a staggering £6.5m. And this high transfer fee has seemed a little unjustified, with the striker making only 23 appearances whilst at the club.
He completed three loan-moves whilst at the DW Stadium, moving to Italian side Genoa in the 2010-2011 season, where he made only seven appearances, that failed to see him promoted to a place in the Wigan starting XI for the start of the 2011/12 season.
Because of this he was sent out to gain more first team experience, this time for a club he knows well, Estudiantes, whom he signed from when making the move to England. Here he performed a little better, making 29 appearances, scoring 11 goals.
The following season saw Boselli return to Italy, this time with Palermo. He made seven appearances, but he couldn't save them from relegation from Serie A. Following this loan move he returned to Wigan, but failed to impress manager Roberto Martinez.
The Argentine had one-year left on his deal with the Championship side, meaning that the Latics will recoup some of the £6.5m fee spent on him in 2010.
