The Confederations Cup ended in spectacular fashion with Brazil defeating European and world champions Spain at the Marcana Stadium - I pick out the FIFA Confederations Cup's standout stars.

Fernando Torres (Spain), who always seems to have the last word at international tournaments, joins Barcelona's £50million prodigy Neymar (Brazil) in a strikeforce that netted a combined total of nine goals during the competition.

The duo beat South American namesakes Abel Hernandez (Uruguay) and Javier Hernandez (Mexico) to a place in the starting line up, while Fred, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Luis Suarez and David Villa miss out altogether.

As for the midfield, Spanish legends Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez lead the way.

Meanwhile, wingers Emanuele Giaccherini (Italy) and Cristian Rodriguez (Uruguay) beat off competition from the likes of Shinji Kagawa (Japan) and Juan Mata (Spain).

Champions League heavyweights Giorgio Chiellini (Italy) and Thiago Silva (Brazil) form a formidable defensive partnership, whereas Dani Alves (Brazil) and Jordi Alba (Spain) have been influential, as well as energetic wing-backs.

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas (Spain) has proved former manager Jose Mourinho wrong for neglecting him in this tournament, leaving Julio Cesar (Brazil), Yasuyiki Konno (Japan) and Arevalo Rios (Uruguay) to complete the subs.
