West Brom manager Steve Clarke is keen on bringing Salomon Kalou to the Hawthorns for next season's Premier League campaign, according to the Daily Mirror.

Clarke worked closely with the Ivorian during his time at Stamford Bridge as assistant coach, and he hopes that their previous affiliation bringing Kalou to West Brom next season.

Kalou has been a hit in France this season, endearing himself to the LOSC Lille fans because of some strong performances.

He made 29 appearances last season, scoring 13 goals, also featuring in Lille's Champions League campaign.

But the Ivorian could be tempted by a move back to England, should West Brom come up with the right terms.

Clarke is looking to build on last season's success, after the Baggies finished in eighth position last season.

Clarke is yet to make a signing this summer, but a flurry of transfer activity is expected in the Midlands in the coming days.

Reports have also linked West Brom with a move for former Chelsea duo Franco Di Santo and Nicolas Anelka, who are both currently out of contract.

The capture of the three aforementioned stars would be a real statement of intent that reflects Clarke's ambitious nature, and he is clearly hoping to transform the Baggies into a Europe competing club.

It would highlight the club's improvement over the past few seasons if the West Brom manager convinces Kalou, Anelka and Di Santo to sign this summer. Clarke is aiming to ditch their "Boing Boing" reputation as they previously fluctuated between the Championship and Premier League.
