Birmingham City and England U21 starlet Nathan Redmond looks set to complete a move to Norwich City in the coming days, after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £2m, according to talkSPORT.
Birmingham have had to sell some of their key assets this summer to diminish some of their financial worries, with owner Carson Yeung facing prison charges in his native Hong Kong.
The trials against Yeung are related to money laundering, and because of this Birmingham have no funds available for transfer dealings this summer.
This has forced manager Lee Clark into selling the likes of Jack Butland, Curtis Davies and now Redmond to ease the financial hardship.
The signing of Redmond looks to be a coup for the Canaries, with a fee of £2m way under Birmingham's valuation of their player. But because of their cash-strapped position, they will have to sell Redmond under his potential value.
Redmond made his debut in August 2010, as Birmingham's second youngest player ever, aged at only 16 years and 173 days old. He has gone on to make over 60 appearances for the Blues, and he possesses both Premier League and Europa League experience.
And Redmond looks set to link up with former Blues manager Chris Hughton, who brought him into the first-team squad during his time with Birmingham.
Redmond looks set to complete a medical in the coming days, and will join up with his new team-mates later this week.
Redmond joins Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel as Norwich's second signing this summer. Hughton will hope that the pair can fire Norwich to a mid-table finish next season.
