Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton failed to turn up for his side's first day of pre-season training yesterday, according to London 24.
The 30-year-old - who spent the weekend with friends at Glastonbury - was absent as his team-mates returned to their Harlington training base on Monday morning.
Barton has made no secret of his desire to return to Marseille, where he spent last season on loan, but the clubs have so far failed to reach an agreement.
Barton's reported £70,000-a-week wage package has proved to be the stumbling block to any potential deal at the moment, with Marseille only able to offer him half of that.
In an edition of last month's The Sun, it was reported that the Merseyside-born midfielder had asked for a £3.5million pay-off at Loftus Road in order to push for a move back to the Stade Veledrome, however his future still remains up in the air.
And while QPR manager Harry Redknapp recently admitted on talkSPORT that Barton would be an asset to the Championship side if he stayed, it appears more and more unlikely that he will return to W12.
