Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the race for Chelsea target Edinson Cavani and are willing to pay almost anything in order to seal the Uruguayan's signature.
The mega-rich Ligue 1 champions are prepared to splash the cash in order to land one of Europe's hottest properties this summer.
The striker has been prolific with Italian outfit Napoli over the past three seasons and he scored an impressive 29 goals in 33 Serie A appearances last term.
It was claimed Chelsea made a bid in the region of £42m for the 26-year-old, although it is understood Napoli will not let their star player leave for anything less than his £54m release clause.
PSG would certainly be able to meet the clubs demands with the backing of their Qatari owners, but it is believed that Cavani would prefer a switch to England over France.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will not be held to ransom over the player but should he stump up the £54m that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is adamant he wants, he could land him over rivals PSG, although he will not want to be dragged into a bidding war.
