Many teams are now getting ready for their pre-season friendlies, and for most, these are either international tours or fixtures against local rivals. For AFC Bournemouth however, they will face the mighty Real Madrid at home, the club have confirmed.
On July 21, Dean Court will host the nine-time European champions to face the newly-promoted team from the south coast of England.
Bournemouth fans will surely be hoping to see the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric and recent recruit Isco, along with many other high-profile superstars.
Their fans will see the likes of Simon Francis up against the prolific Ronaldo, whilst Cherries striker Brett Pitman faces the challenge of Pepe and Raphael Varane in defence. If that isn't enough, he may face the quality of Diego Lopez in goal.
This will be Madrid's first pre-season match before they jet off to the USA to compete in an international tournament. This fixture proves how far the club has come since 2008, when they almost went out of business.
The newly-promoted Championship side will be looking to put on an amazing performance for their fans and manager, but also enjoying their once-in-a-lifetime match against some of the greatest players in world football.
The out-of-this-world friendly comes at a huge cost to the Bournemouth supporters. Unfortunately, tickets for the match will be around the £60 mark for an adult and £30 for U16s.
Despite the over-priced tickets, the Bournemouth fans are predicted to turn out in large numbers to see their beloved team face off against one of the greatest names in footballing history - the extravagant and colossal, Los Galacticos.
