Rio Ferdinand is excited to start pre-season training as Manchester United gear up for the new Premier League season.
The England international took to his official Facebook page yesterday to say: “Butterflies for 1st day of pre-season training tomorrow!!!”
And he was back on the social networking site earlier this morning, posting: “1st day back for pre season today.... 1st day on the road to success this season.... #believe”
Training is likely to have a much different feel to it too as United settle into life without Sir Alex Ferguson, their manager for the previous 27 years, and welcome David Moyes’ new managerial style.
As a result Ferdinand is likely to be a key player this season and need to use all his experience to help the transitional period at the club go smoothly.
Ferdinand is starting his 11th season at the club after signing from Leeds United in 2002, making him the one of the Red Devil's longest serving players.
The Premier League champions start their campaign on August 11th against Wigan Athletic in the Community Shield final, before travelling to Wales to face Swansea, in their first league game, as they look to retain their title against the threat of Manchester City and Chelsea.
