Brendan Rodgers has said that Liverpool’s summer spending is not over yet, despite the arrival of four new players at the club already.
Rodgers has brought in Kolo Toure, Simon Mignolet, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto this summer, but his spending spree looks set to continue.
The Reds’ manager told the club's official website: “Certainly another attacking player will really benefit us, and probably another defender.
"We’ll see how it develops over the course of the next few months."
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos in recent times, and Rodgers’ latest comments will only fuel these rumours further, as it is now known he is in the hunt for more players.
To compensate for the heavy expenditure, Liverpool may look to offload players, and Jonjo Shelvey appears to be on the verge of a move to Swansea City today after a £6m bid was accepted.
Striker Andy Carroll has also left the club this summer, in what looks set to be a busy summer in terms of comings and goings at Anfield.
