Floyd Mayweather has dropped a big hint that he and Manny Pacquiao will never be stepping into the ring for the super-bout that the world wants to see.

Speculation over a fight between the pair has been on-going for some time now, and the pound-for-pound king quashed any hopes fans may have had at a promotion in San Antonio for his upcoming fight with Saul Alvarez.

A fan called out for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao instead of Alvarez, in which 'Money' responded by stating he has had his chance.

"Pacquiao's a has-been, his career is over," Mayweather Jr told reporters. "[Juan] Manuel Marquez is a legend. I commend him."

Mayweather, who is unbeaten in 44 professional bouts, is looking to end 22-year-old Mexican Alvarez's winning streak in September.

While long-term rival Pacquiao will be aiming to bounce back from two successive defeats when he makes his return to the ring against Brandon Rios on November 24.
