Roger Federer has added the Hamburg tournament to his schedule, after announcing on his official website that he would be playing there.

Federer was on the wrong end of one of the biggest shock in Wimbledon history when he crashed out in the second round to Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky and will be looking to regain some form in this tournament.

But, despite the set back, he is keen to get playing again. He announced: “I am also looking forward to competing in Hamburg this summer. I always did very well at Rothenbaum, played some fantastic matches and celebrated important victories there - great memories!"

The Swiss star had reached an amazing 36 consecutive grand-slam quarter finals before crashing out at this year Wimbledon, but this latest defeat has seen question marks raised over how much longer he will continue to play tennis for.

Federer is now 32-years-old, but after recently adding Gstaad to his schedule too, his desire to play tennis cannot be questioned.

The Hamburg tournament gets underway on July 15 and Federer will be hoping for a success after his Wimbledon disappointment.
