British diver Jack Laugher has said that he enjoys beating fellow countryman Chris Mears the most - as he highlighted the friendly rivalry within the Great British diving team.

When asked who he's most competitive with, he told GiveMeSport: "Chris Mears as we do the same event but internationally the Russians and Chinese are the best so the aim is always to beat them!"

Laugher, who is only 18, is regarded as one of the best young divers in the country. His rivlry with Mears is a healthy one, as they are also considered to be best friends away from sport.

“I enjoy training the most with Chris Mears because we both do the same event but also the whole team as we all get on so well," he added.

Laugher is currently preparing for the world championships before his attention will turn to trying to qualify for the Commonwealth Games and trying to achieve a medal for Great Britain.
