The under-20 World Cup in Turkey showcases the best young talent in world football - doesn't look good for Portugal, then.
To be fair, the Iberian country don't have a tremendous track record when it comes to strikers. And in the mould of Pauleta and Nuno Gomes we have now Alberto Aladje - another Portuguese forward not quite up to the same level as the rest of his teammates.
A perfect cross from Premier League transfer target Bruma - aka the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo' - provided with Aladje with a four-yard tap-in. Couldn't be easier, right?
The move, straight from kick off, would have got Portugal off to a perfect start in the last-16 tie. But Aladje's left-footed swinger scooped the ball over the ball.
And to make matters worse, Ghana went on to win the match 3-2, booking their place in the quarter-finals where they'll face Chile.
