Former England captain Michael Vaughan has released the teams that he thinks should start for the first Ashes test on July 10.

Vaughan has selected Johnny Bairstow to start, whilst Tim Bresnan and Steven Finn miss out in his starting line-ups.

The 38-year-old took to Twitter this morning to post his the England side that he thinks would win the national team the first test.

“My England 1st Test team is.. Cook, Root, Trott , Kp, Bell, Bairstow, Prior, Swann, Broad, Anderson, Finn... #1-0. #Ashes,” he tweeted.

Vaughan also took to the social network to mention his favoured Australian team, as they look to cause an upset and win the test. He said: “My Aussie 1st test team would be.... Watson, Rogers, Hughes, Clarke, Warner, Smith, Haddin, Bird, Starc, Pattinson and Lyon... #Ashes”

The former Yorkshire batsman knows what it takes to win the Ashes too, having captained England to victory in the 2005 series.
