New Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is prepared to listen to offers for Brazilian right-back Maicon, who has failed to settle at the Etihad Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.
The 31-year-old was signed from Italian giants Inter Milan last summer for £3m but, since then, has struggled to make an impact.
Signed with an exceptional reputation, Maicon has failed to break into the City first team after being kept out of the squad by the likes of Pablo Zabaleta and, when fit, Micah Richards.
Pellegrini, who took over from Roberto Mancini earlier this summer, has already signed two new players for City, but Maicon looks set to join Carlos Tevez on the list of summer departures.
It is believed that Maicon is on £100k-a-week at City and that is the main reason why Pellegrini wants to sell him on: so that he can spend that wage elsewhere.
The ex-Inter Milan player has only featured seven times for Manchester City and is looking ready for a new challenge as he is not needed by Pellegrini.
Many people will remember Maicon for his sensational goal for Brazil in the 2010 World Cup against North Korea, when the right-back took it to the byline and still managed to drill it home in the near-post.
However, others may remember him for that one Champions League night in which Tottenham star Gareth Bale came to light at the San Siro, where the Welshman scored a sensational hat-trick, embarrassing Maicon in the process.
If that wasn't bad enough, two weeks later Bale did it to Maicon again at White Hart Lane, where Spurs won 3-1.
