With transfer deadline day still over a month away, five Premier League sides have already smashed their club record transfer fees this summer, and that's before we've even considered the last-minute panic buys that every club can be prone to, on any given year.

That said, silly season is well underway, and if every rumour or piece of speculation came true, then we'd already have seen another record-breaking year of activity ahead of the 2013/14 campaign.

In reality, West Ham have broken their transfer record with the £15million acquisition of Andy Carroll from Liverpool, while Tottenham look set to pip the Hammers once they complete a probable £17million club-record deal for Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.

Swansea sealed a club-record £6million signing of Jonjo Shelvey - also from Liverpool - while Premier League new boys, Cardiff City, have broken the bank to bring Andreas Cornelius to south Wales in an £8.5million deal from FC Copenhagen.

Crystal Palace paid the same club-record price to sign unproven Peterborough United striker Dwight Gayle, and Norwich City also shelled out an unprecedented amount for Sporting Lisbon winger Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

However, none of those transfers make it into the Premier League's top ten club-record deals. Click through the tabs - above or below - to see which big-money moves make the list!
