The agent of Luis Nani, Jorge Mendes, insists that the Portugal international could quit Manchester United this summer, with reports linking Roma with a bid for the out of favour winger.

The 26-year-old has been linked with Galatasaray, Juventus, Real Madrid and Arsenal in recent weeks, but Mendes insists that the Portuguese could end up at Roma before the start of the season.

Speaking to Radio Mana, Mendes said: "Nani is a good player – the whole world knows it.

"Will he go to Roma? Why not?

"Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and Rome is a beautiful city.

"There is the possibility that he will leave United, but at the minute nothing is concrete.

"We will meet Manchester United and see, but there is interest."

Nani, who joined Manchester United in 2007 for €25.5 million, has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford over the past couple of years, with former boss Sir Alex Ferguson choosing not to select the tricky winger.

David Moyes has reportedly told the winger that he cannot be guaranteed a regular starting berth and will have to fight for a place in the side next season.

Nani has 12 months left on his contract with the Premier League champions, and Moyes would prefer selling the want-away winger this summer, rather than letting him leave for free next year.

Galatasaray have been monitoring Nani, but failed to land the winger after United snubbed the Turkish giant's bid, having failed to meet the Red Devils' £8.5 million asking price.
