Napoli star striker Edinson Cavani will sign for French champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, claims French newspaper Le Parisien.

One of the most anticipated transfer sagas of the summer is on the verge of completion as PSG and Napoli have reached an agreement for the prolific Uruguay international.

The transfer fee is reportedly around €63m.

The 26-year-old was chased by Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Manchester City appeared to drop out of the race to sign Cavani after being left stunned by Napoli's asking price.

While, Chelsea were understood to have agreed personal terms with Cavani, but were unwilling to the striker's €63m buy-out clause.

Cavani was keen to join his dream club Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants are yet to offer a firm bid for the Uruguayan.

PSG's director of football Leonardo personally met Cavani in Italy, which appears to have convinced the former Palermo striker to join the rich French champions.

PSG, who are poised to break the Ligue 1 record transfer fee again, will pay Cavani €10m per season.
