An own goal is almost always funny - but how do you make it even better?

How about when the unfortunate goalscorer collides with a teammate, injuring himself in the process? That sounds like it's got potential.

So for your viewing pleasure we present Vasco de Gama full-back Nei. The Brazilian 27-year-old recently joined the club from Internacional, and was up against his old team at the weekend. 

Perhaps he wasn't quite sure what team he was playing for, because he thumped a bullet header past his own keeper to give his ex-employers a 1-0 lead.

To make matters worse, Nei clattered into his own player, and appeared to injure himself in the process.

Internacional eventually won the match 5-3, so Nei's defending can't have been as good as his finishing.
