Manchester United are plotting a bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s central midfielder Marco Verratti, as he is set for showdown talks with the French giants, according to Sports Direct News.

The Italian international midfielder is reportedly disappointed by Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to leave the club and join Real Madrid and is now thinking about his future in the French capital.

Manchester United are thought to be closest to taking Verratti off the Ligue 1 champions too, after United had an approach for the starlet rejected in June.

Ancelotti is also thought to be keen on a reunion with the 20-year-old as Real Madrid look to scour the leagues for top young talent after already agreeing a deal for Isco and nearly securing a move for Asier Illarramendi.

United, too, are seemingly on the look-out for central midfielders - and if they were to complete the transfer of Verratti, alongside finalising a deal for Thiago, which has been rumoured for a long time, they would have two of the stars of the recent European U21 Championships at the club.
