PSV Eindhoven star Kevin Strootman has hinted that he may indeed be on his way out of the club this summer, which has put many potential suitors on alert.

The Dutch international was told by the club that he would be staying in Holland for another season, but recent comments by the player himself have revealed that he may soon be on his way out of the club.

Strootman told Voetbal International: "There are several clubs interested but only when they reach an agreement with PSV do I come into the picture.

"This is not to say that any are in the world's top six. There is also interest from Russia, but that is not an option for me. I do not make hasty decisions about my future."

Manchester United are believed to be one of the clubs interested in the services of the Dutch midfielder who starred for his country at the recent European Under 21s championships.

The hard tackling midfielder has also featured for the Dutch national team 18 times and at the age of 23, now would seem the perfect time for the midfielder to trade in the Eredivisie for one of Europe's top leagues.

The amount of playing time will be crucial for the midfielder as he weighs up his next move ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

"The opinion of Holland coach Louis van Gaal is also very important with the World Cup in Brazil next year," added Strootman.

If Strootman was to leave the Dutch giants then he would be the latest in a long line of star players to leave the Philips Stadium.

Belgian winger Dries Mertens, full-back Erik Pieters and Dutch wideman Jeremain Lens have all left Eindhoven this summer.

If Strootman was to be next man to leave the club, PSV would have a massive task on their hands to be capable of building a squad that can usurp Dutch champions Ajax - who have won the league for the past three years running.
