Barcelona have had a £30million bid for David Luiz rejected by Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea reportedly want at least £35million for Luiz and are at odds whether they want to keep the Brazilian or not.
Barca are in need of a new centre half with Carles Puyol hitting the final years of his career. A long-term successor has to be found to partner Gerard Pique.
Barcelona had lined up Thiago Silva but he is unlikely to leave Paris Saint Germain this summer so Luiz has been lined up as an alternative.
Luiz joined Chelsea on deadline day from Benfica in January 2011 for over £21million. The Brazilian has made over 100 appearances for the London club, scoring 12 goals.
The Brazilian defender has won many trophies during his time at Chelsea - winning the Champions League, the FA Cup and the Europa League.
Luiz shone last season for Chelsea, scoring beautiful goals and showing his strength and passing ability. He also showed he could play in midfield.
The 26-year-old is a regular for his country with 28 caps. He recently impressed in Brazil's Confederations Cup triumph.
Luiz would consider making a move to Barcelona as they are one of the best teams in the world. He would also be tempted to join Barca with his Brazilian teammates Neymar and Dani Alves currently at the Spanish club.
