Chelsea face fight for ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’

Published 1 Comments

Chelsea will have to fight off FC Porto if they are to land Sporting wonderkid Bruma, who has been billed as the ‘new Cristiano Ronaldo’.

Reports last week claimed that Jose Mourinho was keen to take the 18-year-old to Stamford Bridge after some stand out performances fro Portugal at the U20 World Cup in Turkey.

Roman Abramovich was ready to spend €15million on the exciting youngster, but it now appears as though the Blues will face serious competition from FC Porto.

A Bola are now claiming that the Portuguese champions are keen on exploiting the fact that Sporting have failed to agree terms on a new and improved contract with Bruma.

The earlier report suggested Sporting had accepted that interest from the likes of Chelsea would make it difficult to hang onto the forward, but wanted a new deal in place to help drive up his price as much as possible.

Now Porto feel as though they can lure him away from Lisbon, as they have a track record for talented young stars and selling them on in big-money transfers.

Bruma’s pace, power and versatility across front line have led many to compare him to Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who also started his career with Sporting.
