Vitesse Arnhem will sign Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake on a season-long loan, according to Sports Direct News.
The 18 year-old defender made three appearances for the first-team last season, but is yet to challenge for a regular starting place.
He is returning to his home country as part of the deal that saw midfielder Marco van Ginkel move in the other direction.
This is not the first time a player from the West London club has moved to Vitesse on loan, as Gael Kakuta had a spell there last season, and Ake's fellow Dutchman Patrick van Aanholt will also be with the Eredivisie club next season.
The Blues' owner Roman Abramovich is said to have a strong business relationship with Vitesse's Georgian chairman, Merab Jordania, which has aided the recent transfer activity between the two clubs.
It is thought that manager Jose Mourinho wants Ake to develop for a year before being considered ready to progress into the first team, but despite his versatility in both defence and midfield, he will struggle to dislodge any of the players who are currently ahead of him.
Josh McEachran and Oriol Romeu are other young players who can play in the sitting defensive midfielder role that he occupies, and he is currently seen as the fifth choice centre-back, so would need others to be sold to have a realistic chance of becoming an established first-team player.
