Nicklas Bendtner hasn't had much success as an Arsenal striker.

When loaned out to Juventus last season, he sat through most of the year with an upsetting injury.

Now that Arsene Wenger has brought in the likes of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, and with rumours of Gonzalo Higuain's arrival at the Emirates Stadium, it's much too clear that Bendtner isn't a part of Wenger's plans anymore.

Eintract Frankfurt have offered Bendtner a way out of north London, as they confirmed in a statement on their website.

They made it clear that negotiations are underway and that a decision about the player's future should be made within the next few days.

Rumours suggested that Bernd Schuster had flown to Costa del Sol to hold talks with the new Malaga manager, but it now seems that the Dane is edging closer to a Bundesliga move.

The statement on Frankfurt's official website read: "Danish player Nicklas Bendtner and his advisors held final talks with Eintract Frankfurt on Tuesday, 9 July 2013.

"Sports director Bruno Hubner has been in close contact with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and a final decision regarding the purchase of Bendtner should be taken within the next two days."

Now that Frankfurt have made an official update, it would be very odd if the deal didn't materialise.

According to Sky Sports, the Frankfurt sports director said, "We are in serious negotiations with Bendtner."

It was said that the Dane had five offers to contemplate this summer, including from the likes of Malaga and Hamburg.
