Barcelona have made Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero their top target according to the Daily Star.

After selling David Villa to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona's only no.9, the Spanish club have targeted Sergio Aguero as a replacement.

Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for a fee of around £38 million pounds. He has gone on to score 47 goals in 88 appearances for the club.

The 25 year old apparently wants to leave Manchester City to go to Barca with a chance to link up with fellow Argentine Lionel Messi too good to turn down.

Aguero has been linked with Real Madrid in the past but signed an extension to his contract only two months ago to quash those rumours.

The Argentine striker is one of the deadliest strikers in the world. Aguero is a regular for Argentina and has scored 18 goals in 45 appearances for his country.

Manchester City could let Aguero go for a fee of around £25 million. However, it would be a bold move for City to let Aguero leave, as he is a hero at Manchester City with his last minute winning goal against QPR in 2012 landing City the title for the first time in 44 years.

Aguero would no doubt be a success at Barcelona as his potential partnership with Lionel Messi could be devastating.
